Catching up

I figure to get my blog started and to catch up on all of my activities, I will post a few things each day,
I started to crochet last year a little before Christmas. It was pretty rough at first, I kept increasing or decreasing stitches when I shouldn't and I couldn't seem to find a comfortable way to hold the yarn and hook. I've definitely gotten past that now and I am constantly crocheting. Here are a few of my very first crochet projects... the finished projects were pretty rough

I made this scarf for my friend bre, she got me started crocheting. The pattern was on a skein of yarn label
I made this pillow as a secret santa gift for my fiance's aunt. The pattern was improvised.

The next few photos are of a specific pattern my friends and I have been using to make Christmas stockings for our families. The beige and brown one was the first I did and is for my rabbit Trinket. The black and green is my fiance's, the camoflage one is my cat Bud's and the Black and white is for my dog, McFly. Still working on the rest of the family.

After these projects I kind of stopped crocheting a bit. I started a lot of projects but nothing ever panned out and I got bored quickly. Eventually I got really into and began crocheting on a daily basis. More to come.

First Blog

This is my first blog... so bare with me. I love to keep myself busy by reading, writing poetry and working on craft projects... especially crochet. And I also live on my computer... day and night. So I decided it was time to keep track of my books, projects and poems and share them all with a larger number of people. From time to time I may throw in some pictures of my loves: my fiance Michael and our 6 pets as well as anything new going on with them. You can also find me on Facebook and Ravelry. Starting the first of the year I will be challenging myself to read 52 books in 52 weeks. Should be interesting considering I already have a pretty full work load ahead of me. Here is the link if you would like to participate in the 52 books in 52 weeks challenge. Though the rules say that you can re-read books, I am going to choose not to. I own over 1,000 books and have not read nearly half of them so I am determined to start knocking out as many as possible.
