I was worried that Stephenie Meyer wouldn't be able to portray what a "normal" vampire is like. I was afraid that it would end up sounding cheesy. But she did a very good job without going too far over the top. I tend to feel bad for the "villains" at times as it is and I love being able to hear the story from their point of view and being able to see their human side. My only issue is that with short stories and novellas... I always want more.
